Civil War diary, 1864-1865, written by Captain John Johann, commander of Company F, 35th Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteers. The diary is a collection of accounting records and entries regarding his personal experiences during the war. The first part of the diary consists of records detailing the disbursal of funds and issuance of supplies while the latter pages contain entries detailing Captain Johann's experiences in Arkansas and Louisiana; his regiment participated in the capture of Mobile in April 1865. Also included is a brief biography of Johann written by his great great grandson, John Stock, which also includes images of Johann, a roster of his regiment and company, and a typed transcription and photocopies of the original diary.
